Jasmine Shakieer was born December 12, 1985 in Fayetteville, NC. She began writing poetry in her elementary school days. Although she was extremely shy, she would often write poems to recite in front of her class. Jasmine continued to write poetry through middle school, high school, and college. In middle school she wrote poems for special programs the school had. She also wrote poems for occasions such as church programs and eulogies. Jasmine was an A honor roll student during high school and because of her writing abilities, was given the opportunity to attend Governor's School West to study English the summer before her freshman year of college. Upon completion of the course, Jasmine wrote a piece that she was asked to recite in front of the entire school, receiving a standing ovation. Jasmine Shakieer is a graduate of The University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill with a Bachelor's Degree in Psychology. She continues to write as a hobby, but one day dreams to become a published author.
